On Saturday, Brittani came over with the boys to bake some Easter treats. My mom came over to help out, too. Altogether, it took 3 1/2 hours to bake two varieties of cupcakes (chocolate & rainbow), sugar cookies, and brownies with a special icing. We also colored about two dozen eggs for the egg hunt. The funnest part was mixing up the cake mix for the cupcakes and of course, decorating everything once it was baked. Brittani and I were pouring the cake mix into the cupcake pan and she just couldn't seem to get the mix in the mold. In fact, she poured it about everywhere EXCEPT for the mold (the mixing bowl, the side of the pan, the counter)! Ha ha! Mom and I were laughing hysterically. I was loving this because finally...I had found someone who was messier than me in the kitchen...If you can believe that!! Don't worry, Brittani, I still love you even though your a messy baker!
The boys were really good for the most part and they had a ball eating all the treats, especially the cupcakes. Cane got icing all over himself and all over the front door! Conner helped me roll the sugar cookies into balls and then roll them in colored sugar crystals. He was a good helper...the only problem was that he wanted to eat everything BEFORE we baked it! Ha ha.
Thank you to Mom, Brittani, and the boys for coming over and helping me bake the Easter treats!! It was so egg-citing! Hee hee.
