The beautiful arrangement that Brooks made for me

Today ( Wednesday, August 5th), Brooks and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary. It was a fabulous day...and somewhat bitter sweet because my first day of work was today. Yes, for those of you who do not know yet...I got a job at a high school teaching Business Education! Yippie Yippie Yay! That is a whole different blog that I will post later.

Anywho, Brooks and I decided that we would celebrate our anniversary this weekend. We started off by exchanging gifts Tuesday night b/c both of us are always so excited to give our gifts to each other. I gave Brooks a Case pocket knife to start his collection off with; He gave me a top of the line touch screen 16GB ipod. Now, I do not have any excuses for not running more often! Ha Ha. Right. Then, on Friday night, Brooks cooked a fabulous dinner that consisted of the best stuffed bell peppers I've EVER eaten over a bed of mahatma rice and tomatoes. The bell peppers came fresh out of our garden and they were stuffed with some combo of sauteed beef, sausage and other stuff...yum yum! Saturday came too early but we were glad we got a jump start to our celebration weekend. We were on the road by 10:00 a.m and we arrived at Zoo Atlanta at about 11:30. It was a beautiful day out and we saw all the animals except for one or two, who were hiding in the shade. I took some really good pics of most of the bigger animals. Neither of us had ever been to the zoo (well, that we could remember), so this was awesome to get to see together. Brooks did a great job planning this surprise trip for us! After leaving the zoo, we decided to go next door to the Cyclorama and Civil War Museum! I had never been there so that was neat to see. After leaving the museum, Brooks and I met up with Yanna and her boyfriend, Stamos. We got to see her new house (which is awesome) and then we all went to dinner at a neat little restaurant in the Highlands. I believe the name of the place was Neighbors. After dinner, we took a walk through the Highlands area. We all had a blast and it was so nice to meet Stamos. Thanks for dinner guys...we really enjoyed it! Saturday was packed with fun and when we got home we were absolutely pooped! So, Sunday we slept in until about 9:00 a.m. (which never happens...sadly) and then we got some breakfast at the cracker barrel. To top off the weekend Brooks made me the cutest bouquet made out of flowers from our yard. Thanks, honey! It is beautiful! Now it's back to the real world and my first day with students is tomorrow (Monday, August 10th)!! I am so excited and can't wait to delve in!

While marriage takes lots of work and sacrifice, the dividends are endless. God has really blessed us! It means a lot to know that you have your companion and best friend on your side no matter what, through the good and the bad. Can't wait to see what the next 3 years bring!
I love you, Brooks.
